Girl's Account of the Reunion (From email to Malu Sept 21, 2003)

Hi Malu! How are you?  What's going on with your reunion na pala?  Have not seen any news on the email about your gathering - is it still pushing through?  Sayang you couldn't make it to ours here - was so much fun - enjoy na enjoy lahat!  All we really did was eat and laugh - what ba naman with Grace as our roommate pa.  We were nine in our room! Originally, I was to sleep with Dido on one bed and Evelyn and Sheba on the other bed and the rest sa floor mattress , lounge chairs and air bed. But since Evelyn and I were busy chatting with sila Paz and Nieves downstairs til around 2 am nawalan kami ng place sa room.  Grace and Pam de los Reyes (remember her?) occupied one bed and Dido and Sheba the other. Evelyn and I ended up sleeping sa airbed na nakalimutan ko lagyan ng hangin.  I forgot to charge it so I couldn't put air right away - and by the time we wanted to sleep na half way lang ang charger so half lang ang hanging ng airbed. And to top it all when I was trying to put air, the machine was so noisy so ended up waking the rest of the group (lalo na si Garnet).  We died of laughter cuz here we were sneaking in the room while everyone is sleeping pero kami ni Evelyn giggling as usual and then here comes the sound of a lawn mower (according to Garnet). (he, he, he I'm laughing again while telling you the story ) Ay naku Malu, too bad you Chit and Au were not around - gulo gulo namin talaga! Just imagine Evelyn being caught by Garnet sneaking in the room after one trying to hide eating a banana ( sabi ni Garns para unggoy daw na nagtatago ng pagkain - ha ha ha) She was trying to be  very careful not to wake up anyone  while taking her pill with the banana pero huli pa rin siya ni Garns.  After I took a shower at mga 2am na, I come out the bathroom and low and behold I hear all this snoring going on especially with Grace may kasama pang blowing sound - so tawa na naman kami ni Evelyn. And to top it all ( I'm really giggling again just relating this story to you)   here was Grace sleeping, walang blanket cuz she was feeling warm and then her "buli" could be seen - Malu it was the singit of her buli (he he he). I had to look and look to make sure if I was wrong sana pero yoon na nga so I told Evelyn na naman and siempre tawa na naman kaming dalawa. So the two of us were getting ready na to sleep on  the airbed and as we laid down (ha ha ha) the bed which was only aired halfway lang kasi naubusan ng charge, became flat na parang nakatulog kami sa banig lang. Ay naku ayaw ko magkwento kasi am crying of laughter na naman.  Anyway sige na muna I have start dressing up na rin to bring Stef to school pa - Take care and hope to hear from you. I wish you can really come and visit us rin we miss you ladies na.

Gigi's thoughts on the Punta Fuego Reunion (September 18, 2003 e-mailed report)

Well, I'm back and I have to report to all of you here in the States that our reunion at Punta Fuego was a memorable experience!  I was not able to attend the dedication of our class gift made by our Manila M&Ms but a video and kwentos were shared at our reunion--with action pa!

You had to be there to hear Garnet describe Bonnie Balderrama  and her "bongga-ciousness!" It is a story I can listen to several times and laugh each time. I don't have much to add to Medy's wonderful description of the happenings and the numerous pictures on the web that went with it. She is one organized lady!!

What I do have to say is that I have never laughed so much!!! Everyone at Punta Fuego had wonderful and funny stories to share. If Grace Jhocson comes here to the States, let me know and I will join you!

There were serious moments, too, when we talked about conditions in the Philippines and some of the trials we have all faced in our lives. Others shared their dreams of things still to be accomplished which made me feel younger!

Thank you to Marimil,  for making me feel so welcome and being such a true friend all these years.

Thank you to everyone for sharing yourselves and giving me this wonderful opportunity to get to know all of you better! I am sounding corny na but my heart was really full when I left the Philippines last Saturday.

I am so glad I went!!!

As Dido said, the weather cooperated and the glass doors in her house were open to the ocean view all day and all night!  The reunion t-shirt from Sheba says it all --
Live, Love, and Laugh--MCHS class of 68.

P.S. Carol, everyone liked the specially printed m&m candies I brought from the Las Vegas reunion group.(note: We had to use them as prizes since everyone wanted them) I also delivered the donation collected here for the Stations of the Cross project.
