ibarreta.jpg (3501 bytes)The  meeting last night was a huge success. Forty one of us attended. We were able to get eight more members to come, namely: Francisco Samson (works at the National Power Corporation at Iligan City), Pidot Mendoza (who arrived the day before from Manila), Ricky Escueta, Americus Yanong (works at the City Fiscal's Office), Mike Tan, Edwin Lim, Oscar Te Seng, Peter Carriedo (did not graduate with us but was adopted by us), Hermie Trinidad who came all the way from Iligan, and Paul Dominguez.

Dinner was hosted by Pfizer through the efforts of Jore Lacuesta. In exchange for the free dinner we had to listen to a lecture by a doctor brought by Pfizer. Topic of the lecture was interesting: Sexual Dysfunction among males. There was advance info given us that after the lecture samples of Viagra would be distributed. This, I suspect, was the reason for the huge turnout. But no such luck, no free Viagra.

After the lecture we had dinner. And then a very brief meeting. I informed everybody about the website Mario Feranil created for us. Tany Wenceslao brought his Laptop computer and our classmates were able to see on the wide screen the homepage. This took a while but everyone was excited. Hermie asked why his wedding picture was put, commenting that now the entire world knows he's married. The class picture was a huge success too as everyone had difficulty in trying to put names on the pictures.

Anyway after that, consensus was reached to put on hold the raffle. We decided, however, to proceed with the holding of a golf tournament. Paul promised to help which was the only asssurance that Jessie Fortich, who is the tournament Chairman, needed. Jessie figured the class could raise something like Php200,000.Pidot, who knows this stuff and who also promised to help, agreed with the figure of Jessie.

After the meeting, Pidot generously paid for the drinks. Some of us then proceeded to a Piano Bar, around twenty five of us. Paul came with us, too, and paid for the first round of drinks.

The consensus here is that the funds we raise will set up a chair and scholarship at the Ateneo. Will get a contract from Ateneo to show to the members how it works.

Finally, we agreed not to meet in August cause baka magkasawaan. We will meet, however, in September the exact date of which has not yet been agreed upon.
